To maintain your RAC-CTA certification, you must recertify every two years. Fulfill your recertification requirements by participating in the RAC-CTA Recertification On-Demand Workshop and passing a final exam with a score of at least 80%.

Following this 10-part on-demand workshop totaling four hours, you will:

• Understand the updates to the long-term care regulations that impacted the work of the Medicare specialist
• Identify areas to monitor and audit based on regulatory changes
• Recognize potential risks or penalties if out of compliance with updated regulations Identify key Medicare specialist strategies for success

Note: Purchasing recertification materials does not extend the expiration date of your credential.

If you do not meet the recertification requirements by the expiration date of your certification, or if you allow your RAC-CTA certification to lapse, you will no longer be entitled to use the RAC-CTA credential. If you want to regain your certification after your expiration date, you will be required to retake and pass the final exams for the complete ten-course RAC-CTA certification program.

4.0 contact hours will be awarded for this continuing nursing education activity. Learners must view at least 80% of all videos and complete the associated evaluation to receive the contact hours. No partial credit will be awarded. Contact hours will be awarded for this activity until November 22, 2027.

• You must take and pass the exam with a score of at least 80% before your certification expiration date.
• You have a total of three exam attempts. If you do not pass on the third attempt, you can submit a request for an additional three exam attempts from your Learner Dashboard – just click on Request Additional Exam Attempts.

• The final examination is offered on the honor system. This assumes you will act in good faith to ensure your performance is an accurate representation of your own personal knowledge and skills related to the subject matter.
• AAPACN does not tolerate cheating or any breach of academic or professional ethics that may compromise the security and integrity of its exams.
• Discussing content found on exams is strictly prohibited.
• Posts on AAPACN Connect (community discussion boards) will be removed.
• Anyone found compromising the security of the exams by attempting to copy, record, or distribute questions in any manner will be permanently excluded from the certification process and may be subject to legal action.
