In today’s challenging nursing facility staffing environment, it's easy to overlook small issues when pressed for time—especially when completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) under pressure. But just like cracks in a building’s foundation, on the surface, dashes on the MDS can appear insignificant at first, yet they can lead to major structural problems down the road. These seemingly minor gaps in documentation can undermine care planning, skew reimbursement, and disrupt quality measure outcomes. During this 75-minute webinar, AAPACN Curriculum Development Specialist, Jennifer LaBay, RN, RAC-MT, RAC-MTA, QCP, CRC, will explore the consequences of using dashes on the MDS and explain how these "cracks" in data can escalate into compliance issues and financial setbacks. Jennifer will also provide practical strategies for identifying and addressing dashed items, helping facilities shore up their MDS foundation even when staff resources are stretched thin.
